Erasmus Mundus

You may be wondering after seeing the title of this post, what is this Erasmus Mundus all about! Well it is a student exchange programme implemented in Europe.

Europe is a continent where education is not commoditized and not commercialized too. Quality of education is supreme there and student's requirements are given due attention to. Hence there is a student exchange programme which is widely run there and it is applicable to the students undergoing Master programmes.

After first year, if student wants to go to some other university or country covered under the student exchange programme, his current university may allow him to do that provided his academic performance in the first year is good. Thus he can get a joint degree certificate at the end of two years of his Masters programme. University may also decide to give him some assistance or scholarship in the said process. Europe being largely covered by Schengen Visa, the student does not need to bother about taking another visa also within the zone.

The benefit of opting for such student exchange facility is manifold. Student gets the benefit of pedagogy of 2 well-known universities, he gets the experience of diverse culture in the same programme in addition to getting the names of 2 universities in his CV.

In Europe, education to a large extent is practical oriented keeping in mind industry requirements. Every university naturally designs the curriculum keeping in mind the employment requirements in its respective country. Hence if the student learns in 2 countries as part of this student exchange programme, needless to say it increases his overall employability and job prospects.
